Help with building NAS

Looking for some help with the components, anything that can be changed to make it better/cheaper.

I've looked at some things and made a list in pc part picker.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dxtxWb

The use will just be for storing fille's (pictures, movies, etc.) for everybody in my home(4pc's).

Looking for it to be cheapish but have some beter preformance than a standard nas.

I've got some spare hd's at home so i wont have to buy any.

Performance will largely depend on your network. Many high-end pre-built NAS use very low power CPUs.

the cv650 is built differently (better) than the cv550. I know the NAS itself won't draw more than 200W, I just picked based on price/quality rather than capacity.

I think normal drives are fine. the special nas drives are just more reliable if you want to store critical data forever.

the motherboard I picked has good enough wired and wireless cards integrated, from what I know.

"Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Picasso CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions."

You might want to look for another case if you're planning on putting three HDDs in it - that one only supports two.

I've used those hard drives in a Synology NAS and although they did all go bang eventually it took quite a long time. In a proper PC case I suspect they'll be fine.

ASRock B450M/AC Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard came out after ryzen 3000 series, so it ships with the correct bios. you won't have any issues.
