How To Get ALAC on Itunes

I want to purchase loseless music but I don't see any settings where I can purchase in ALAC in itunes ( I have 2 dollars to spare in my account so why not)

Buy the song in mp3, then download it flac/alac on the pirate bay.

IIRC doesn't Apple have their own proprietary lossless format? 

 

if not then I don't think they offer lossless, I think it only allows you to rip to lossless format (ALAC encoder)

I wouldn't too, if it wasn't for my friends who are either creating music or all things apple.

They also often get on my nerve by saying mac is better than pc (just to piss me off), and it's hard to argue with them because they don't understand tech.

They do, .aiff, but its basically dead now and their new lossless format is ALAC which is open source.
