How in the living hell does "someone" do 8k WUs in 3 hours.

Do they have azure folding on all cores? I don't understands this

look up his 90 day cpu log on https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu

THis has to be a massive server farm, as i saw between 4 and 17 jobs returned completed every 1 to 2 seconds.  Remember each job takes between 1 and 2 hours for the higher end products.

Main Rig -- AMD Ryzen 9 3900X | Asus Tuf Gaming X570-plus (Wifi) | 4 x 8gb DDR4 G Skill Trident Z 3600Mhz | Nvidia 2060 Super | Thermaltake Lvl 20 HT | Firecuda 520 500 gb m.2 | Thermaltake 1050 Platinum | Dual Asus VG279Q Monitors

This is amazons folding account that they use in their datacentres.

Drooling and day dreaming of having that kind of personal resources.

Part of the reason why you see reduced clocks is the fact that core22 WUs hit the card harder and make them hotter than core21 WUs, thus causing the clocks to dip under GPUBoost on the GPU.

True, but were talking memory clock here not GPU and my GPU only hits 71C with 63% fan speed, compared to gaming where it hits the 80s with 100% fan speed.  I think it might be power throttling due to the workload rather than heat.

As for PCIe bandwidth, I think people drastically overestimate its usage.  On PCIe Gen3 x16 on Linux, I'm only using 42% bandwidth at its peak.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

My 2080ti does it too. My core clock will go up a bit and memory down.

They should set up a work server just for themselves so they leave some WUs for us! lol

(GPU: RTX 2070 Super) I am also noticing that the gpu runs at a lower clock for the past two days. Earlier, temp would rise to a 65c (with an aggressive fan curve) and a clock of 1935. Now the clock dropped to 1605! and temp to 50c. My question is, did I kill my gpu by folding 24/7? Or, is it just because of the wu(s) that they don't require the higher clocks (I don't know)!

I really hope it's the latter.

Thanks!

I also noticed that my GPU was jumping between 92% 96% 98% utilization while folding on 15 threads on my 9900K.  Just dropping folding power to medium which changed the threads to 14 has made it more stable around 97-98%.  Don't let that fool you, it makes the OS practically unusable if you need to task switch.

It also stopped the odd core spiking to 96C too which is a good thing. ;)

The CPU WUs are a bit of a nightmare, you just think you have temps under control and then a WU comes along that thrashes it.

That is super weird. Have you tried a reboot?

Yes, I have been restarting round the clock ever since I found the gpu acting up.
