I had problems setting my machine up for this some days ago.  My machine isn’t particularly powerful  And there seems to be hardware better than mine hanging ready and empty so I figured my quite unimpressive stuff (4770+rx580). Would remain pointless in the effort.  Is this still the case?  Was it never the case?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

Not thrilled about today... Looked through the error log and other than no wu no errors :(

Prob wont hit the min criteria to make this a viable day even though been getting WU all day and my system has been crunching them...

I'm assuming your running a GPU and CPU. You could just be having trouble sending the results in and they're going to the Collection Server (CS) rather than the Work Server (WS) which can result in the Quick Return Bonus (QRB) not being applied right away. You will get the points eventually so don't fret about that.

You'd have to ask @GOTSpectrum about the minimum points requirements. I know he is monitoring that and is aware of the issues.

You don't need PhysX, 3D Vision (wasn't that removed in some driver update?) or GeForce Experience.

It's a GT 520, so it doesn't run the latest driver.

Yeah, it would be nice if someone created a custom build for a Linux Distro just for folding.

I just have text files for all my systems that I post a running log of breaks and fixes.

Honestly getting the OS up and Folding isn't too bad to get done it's getting Fan Control and over-clocking working then the hardware monitor setup with the un-documented ITE SuperIO chips then that linked to SNMP so it can be monitored remotely.

Do you overclock GPUs for folding or just CPU? I had to pretty much remove the OC I had on my 2080ti due to failing WUs.

Also damn I moved my folding VM from windows to linux and saw an 80%+ improvement on CPU PPD, no wonder everyone else is spinning linux boxes up.

I´m also running a bunch of old desktops machines (AMD A8-5600K, Phenom X4 965, Intel i5 2310 and probably will run a bit a Intel E2160 until seti@home is finally done and will join a Quadcore to F@H... so all fold is a good!

I don't over-clock anymore. Core22 is brutal and over-clocks that were stable for months fail.

I don't have any Intel CPUs that can be over-clocked and I just let my Ryzens do their thing.
