Yes. I have a ryzen 7 3700x and had a stock cooler in it.

When i put my voltage to 1.35-1.375 and core clock to 4.25-4.35 ghz i could run it without issues. So if you have decent airflow a slight overclock might work.

Make sure to test to cpu with cinebench runnin multiple times or aida64 or prime95

Thinking of getting my hands on ryzen 7 3700x will stock cooler be enough.

I'll stick to stock clocks no oc.

And the area where I live is a bit hot usually 35-40°© in summers.

So what's your suggestion?

If it can handle even slight overclock then It must be great with stock speeds as well.

Thanks I got my answer.

Thanks I got my answer.

you do not have to overclock it.

You can use "Ryzen Master" to set your cpu runnin at its max turbo aroungd 4.3-4.4 ghz and your voltage to 1.35. That will set your cpu runnin at those voltages and speeds all the time. You can disable it whenever you want. But running at stock is not the best idea since when i run my r7 3700x at stock it only get around 4 ghz and 1.4 voltage. I weel like running stock it wastes power of the cpu. And 1.4 voltage is way too high for your cpu anyway, the 1.35 is in my opinion the limit

I've seen in the benchmarks that r7 3700x has negligible performance gain while being overclocked and that's why thought of using it only at stock speeds.

Can't I set the frequency to 3.6 GHz only?
