i5 9600k high temps

KasheK

Hey guys,

for the last few months I have some lag spikes ingame (CS:GO etc), so I have tried to monitor temps under high load and find out that my temps go as far as 100C.. is that for not OC CPU much? I have some cheap Cooler Master water cooling, should I switch to something better or just try to change thermal paste?

thankz for tech tips

What model exactly is that Cooler Master watercooler? With temperatures like that the cooler might not work correctly.

How old is your cooler?  If it had been keeping it cool for a time, it may be a sign your cooler is failing.

Like others said you might have a failing cooler. If you don't think your cooler is failing you can try reducing the voltage to your cpu a bit.

It's Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML120L and I bought it 2 years back.

I would personally have a 240mm AIO or a good air cooler like a Noctua U12A. My flatmate runs his 9600k on a Kraken X62 and it stays super cool and it's OC to 4.9GHz. I don't think a 120mm AIO is enough and the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML range is not that good imo.
