TR 3990X drive compatibility

Go to solution Solved by LinusTech,

all good.

I have an existing computer with a 2990WX. I have a samsung nvme m.2 ssd and I heard that pairing that with a 3990X is not a good idea as there are some complications. Is this true? and what are the reasons why. Can I even use an ssd with the 3990X ?

I'd look at some buying guides out there.

Would link a few, but may be considered advertising and I don't want to get your thread locked. sry for that.

Anyhow, hopefully someone with better information could fill in some blanks. Personally, I don't see why using that particular SSD would be no good. Samsung makes nice drives.

No its not. Its a drive that uses the PCIe interface, there is no reason why you cant use it.

Edit: a big question is if you need to get a 3990x at all.
