How important is high speed ram in 3rd Ryzen chips

I recently build a new pc from a mobo/CPU/ram bundle with a Asus Rog Strix B450-f, a Ryzen 5 3600x and Hyperx Fury 2x8GB 2666MHz.

But from what I've heard on both a lot of ltt vid and bitwit vids the 3rd gen Ryzen chips are better off using 3600MHz. But according to the retailer I bought the set from the Mobo isn't compatible with those speeds. Is it worth upgrading to 3200 MHz and how much is the lower speed ram affecting the performance?

TL;DR: yeah, performance is a bit lower on 2666Mhz as compared to 3200 and 3600Mhz.

 

Your mobo will be compatible with high speeds, just turn on DOCP.

I would return the 2666Mhz and get at least 3200Mhz memory.
