Secret lab chairs, not sure if it's ok for me to post this here

Also, what do you mean by breathable? Sorry if the question seems a bit stupid ?

u know like when u sit on leather on a hot day and start sweating?

breathable just means air to pass with heat

image.png.b7448b77c11d5ab8094deb6d26a9fa16.png

so when you sit on them for a long time it does get quite hot,

it doesnt bother me but some people are extra sweaty and may not like this which is why they made a fabric version.

Ive had my eye on grabbing a secret lab chair to replace the chair I already have, it's not broken, just I would like to not feel like I'm sitting on a brick after 30 minutes, how solid are secret lab chairs?

I too am looking to get a Secret Lab Titan, from my research the Omegas are not great, the seat bottom's are not as comfortable. But I haven't found much negative on the Titans. Others to look at are the Noblechair Epic and the Autonomous Ergo Chair 2.

A nice padded officer chair will be cheaper and probably more comfortable than a Secret Lab chair.

Before @geo3 brings it up, if you're willing to spend that much on a Secret Lab: spend a little bit more and get a refurbished Herman Miller Aeron.

and this is the correct forum for chair questions

Go to a store?

If you're worried about ergonomics you shouldn't be shopping for a chair online where you don't know how comfortable it is to you

Sure, they're nice, but spending $500 on a "gaming chair" blows my mind.

Go to Costco, Ikea, or any office store, and find an actual comfortable, durable, ergonomic chair that will probably be better than any gaming branded Secret Labs, or DX Racer, and will be way cheaper.

Gaming Build:

CPU: Ryzen 7 3800x   |  GPU: Asus ROG STRIX 2080 SUPER Advanced (2115Mhz Core | 9251Mhz Memory) |  Motherboard: Asus X570 TUF GAMING-PLUS  |  RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4 3600MHz 16GB  |  PSU: Corsair RM850x  |  Storage: 1TB ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro, 250GB Samsung 840 Evo, 500GB Samsung 840 Evo  |  Cooler: Corsair H115i Pro XT  |  Case: Lian Li PC-O11

Peripherals:

Monitor: LG 34GK950F  |  Sound: Sennheiser HD 598  |  Mic: Blue Yeti  |  Keyboard: Corsair K95 RGB Platinum  |  Mouse: Logitech G502

Laptop:

Maybe not walmart, but plenty of other office stores sell quality gear.

They are designed to be comfortable and sat in for long hours, there is actual a science to long lasting chairs that are meant to be sat in for extended periods of time. A $200 chair from Costco is not the same, speaking from experience.

I bought a higher end Homall gaming chair - just rebranded cheap stuff, avoid.  I noticed that basically all the gaming chairs on Newegg are the same chair rebranded at various pricing.  I wouldn't buy a chair online if I had to do it again (and this chair is 1 year old and already falling apart, have had to retighten twice) and would pay the extra to test drive them in a brick and mortar if possible.

Heres my opinion though not asked for on a chair that is expensive (and I sit in one I got from a yard sale 3 years ago cause Im frugal for this kind of stuff personally) if you can afford it - treat yourself.  Since having kids I wipe my own ass with baby wipes and that isn't going to stop in the future.  Treat myself lol.

Also, what do you mean by breathable? Sorry if the question seems a bit stupid ?

u know like when u sit on leather on a hot day and start sweating?

breathable just means air to pass with heat

so when you sit on them for a long time it does get quite hot,

it doesnt bother me but some people are extra sweaty and may not like this which is why they made a fabric version.

They are designed to be comfortable and sat in for long hours, there is actual a science to long lasting chairs that are meant to be sat in for extended periods of time. A $200 chair from Costco is not the same, speaking from experience.

All I'm saying is you can get better/equal quality chairs for significantly cheaper

It really is the only chair worth spending money on. I've never found a chair that is near as comfortable for extended periods of time.  Also considering the longevity of them it's actually fairly cheep. Mine is from 2001 and I only just recently needed to do a repair on it, a simple replacement the gas cylinder which cost like $35.

If u are a real nerd sitting down 8h+/day u should invest in a good monitor-chair.
