20 + 4 pin power-supply

Go to solution Solved by minibois,

That tab is there to be able to plug them in together.usually you have to plug them both in at the same time, with that tab, being underneath the 'neck' of the 20 pin connection.

Unplug the 20 pin, make sure the 20+4 pin are together and plug them in at the same time.

Both connections will indeed go in only one way

Hi.

I am building my new build and when I was plugging in my 24 pin power-supply, i noticed something that might be an issue. The thing is the 4 pin connector has a plastic obstruction which doesn´t allow me to plug it in next to the 20 pin one. I thought I should plug it the other way (by turning it around), but there are a couple of printed arrows and a 20 and 4 respectively, indicating that the way I was doing it initially is the right way.

What do I do? I don´t think its a defect of the power supply

I'll say the 20+4 pin is one of the least intuitive/easy to use connectors on a PC.

All for compatibility I guess!

Have fun with your new PC :)
