Is the 1080 ti still worth it?

Hello there, dunno what to get, the RTX 2070 or the GTX 1080 TI? Which will last longer?

you get a warranty with a 2070 but 1080Ti will have value if its on a good price

A used 1080 ti is worth at most $450, "last longer" doesn't mean much in this context

Worth is a relative term.

Without knowing the pricing, no one can give you an answer.

I bought 3 of them.

 

They have less issues than any other card I bought before them and that includes the 1080, 980 ti, 980 and 970.

I have to go back to the 680 4gb to get a card that had no microstutter, no stutter, no pause on some texture loads, no driver issues and no underperforming.

All mine are still under warranty and going strong.

 

If you find one cheap enough, go for it.

The 1080ti if you can find it cheaper and don't care about ray-tracing. 1080ti matches the 2070 super.

'worth it' is something only you can answer. I have no idea what is 'worth it' to you - and you didn't give us any more details to help recommend a 1080 Ti vs a 2070.

As far as 'is a 1080 Ti still a viable card for PC gaming in December 2019?' , absolutely. Heck, my HTPC is still running a 1070 (paired with an i7 7700 non-k) and much to my bewilderment gaming on a 4k TV actually still looks "fine". I haven't tried anything like RDR2 at max settings or what have you, but my buddy has been using it to play WoW retail when we all LAN at my house on the weekends and with that all maxed it's still able to keep FPS up around 70-75 most of the time. 

As far as "is a 1080 Ti worth picking up over a 2070?" that's all going to depend on prices, how used is the 1080 Ti, and do you care about RT cores or not. the 1070 in my HTPC was mined with for about 6 months (I had a hellfire inferno mining setup in my basement) and works fine, but I kept temps in check. It's possible that other people may not have been as careful (assuming the 1080 Ti was mined with) in which case who knows how much life it has remaining.

 

If you can save a little bit more, personally I would just buy a brand new card - 2070 Super, 2080 Super, etc.

The 1080 Ti is still a great gpu so sure it is still worth considering against the RTX lineup.
