smallast printer that's available to buy right now?

first off: if this is in the wrong section please move it. i put it here because i don't think a printer is a peripheral?

 

anyway, the title explains it all. i have very limited space in my apartment, but my girlfriend needs a printer for work. it needs to be full color, but that's about the only requirement. anything goes really.

what would be the best, but most space efficient printer we could get?

I assume it needs to support A4? Otherwise I would be able to suggest a HP Sprocket for example :P

The smallest A4 printers I have seen are mainly cheap Epson and Canon printers. The cartridges don't come cheap though.

You're going to pay out the ass for a compact printer, and it's likely going to be a mobile printer, and have horrible output as well as running costs. You're really just better off finding space for a full size printer; even compact non mobile printers are only going to be an inch or two smaller.

How often does she need to print? And how many pages on average per print job?

 

Very compact printers are probably going to be extremely expensive to operate.
