Dell CPU Compatibility list, by Dell

Page 10 shows an official list:

Although I could also say it's LGA 1155, so that should mean everything LGA 1155 is compatible.

There are some 3rd and some 2nd gen Intel CPU on the list too.

In theory, it could mean i7 3770(k), i7 2600(k), i5 3570(k), i5 2500(k) or i5 2400 could be compatible.. But you never know for sure.

Whichever CPU you are gonna get, I would google the PC's name and the CPU's name to know if it works.

Just be sure to update the BIOS to the newest version before upgrading.

Is there any dell CPU compatibility list that is based on the model of the system, or based on the chipset? Like I could type in dell optiplex 3010 or something and get a complete list of cpus I can install based on Dell. I have browsed for a little bit and I cant find any, however I'm not the best finder of certain things.

Thank you

if you google the name with +filetype:pdf (Ex: 'Dell Optiplex 3010 +filetype:pdf') there should be a pdf with all the specs that has a CPU compatibility page.
This isn't perfect because it might only show CPUs that Dell shipped with that model. You should be able to look up the chipset of the board on ark.intel.com and see all of them. (ex: here is the H61 Express supported CPU list: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/52806/intel-h61-express-chipset.html)
If all else fails, Google the name of the model and the name of the CPU and see if anyone has tried that config ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

why no dark mode?

Oh thank you! I did just that, but  with a delloptiplex 7010 and I  went to the CPU compatibility page and I see GSP on the higher  end CPU's and an X on the lower end ones. Should I treat the GSP labeled CPU's on the list the same as the CPU's with an X in the list?

yeah, it sounds like GSP (global standard prodcuts) just means dell didn't originally sell that config (unless maybe ordered in bulk by a business?), either way it should work fine if it's GSP or X, X just means it is supported.

While X SKUs generally have a slightly higher base clock, that motherboard isn't overclock able. Don't install an overclockable CPU unless u really need that extra 200Mhz.

Black Knight-

Ryzen 5 5600, GIGABYTE B550M DS3H, 16Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000mhz, Asrock RX 6800 XT Phantom Gaming,

Oh no I know that, we were talking about the X  vs GSP that was on Dell's PDF  CPU compatability list.
