I thought the only way to expand the VRAM, is to buy another GPU with more VRAM?

Apparently not

The GPU that came with a 1995 PC I bought contained a GPU that could have its VRAM expanded from 1MB to 2MB with an upgrade kit. Unfortunately the store sold me the wrong kind and it set on fire (and I ended up with an S3 Virge) but its been done in the past.

The S3 ViRGE sucks as a 3d card, but its a killer 2d card for all your dos/win9x needs :D

Old shit no one cares about but me.
