An unknown gaming PC with 'some' AMD hardware (bleh) vs. Dell 'freaking' AlienwareTM with IntelTM Core i7TM 9700, eh?

If they both cost the same and the Alienware is 100% original and genuine then I've no idea why you're even considering the unknown AMD machine.

Go buy that Alienware, mate.

In fact... RUN!

alienware has better value, you will not notice more ram mhz in most cases, and alienware motherboards are god option, better than the asrock in this case. Alienware is no brainer.

I wouldn't recommend either of them. You can build DIY PC with the same specs for cheaper or get better specs for the same price.

Or AMD, but you don't need this CPU for gaming, get R5 3600X instead, will be even cheaper.

You can't be serious!

There's no gaming performance difference between 2,666MHz and 3,000MHz. Maybe ~1 FPS in some scenarios, tops.

DO NOT dump the Alienware, just because some unknown AMD machine has 334MHz memory bandwidth advantage over it! That'd be beyond ridiculous, mate.

The main concern with any prebuild is the quality of components, when you're making a PC yourself from the parts you see you can get better parts than those included in the prebuild. Usually they skimp on PSU and GPU which is most concerning, among other things.

Fine tune ? Slap it all together, set RAM XMP profile in BIOS, install Windows and it's done. Yeah, my build doesn't include one, so it's not cheaper per se but you can use Windows for free. And there's no bloatware in DIY PC.

Sure if you don't want to build it yourself or worry that you may mess things up i'd recommend that Dell prebuild too.

See, to sum things up, they both have pretty same CPU performance level. But AMD one has better upgrade potential, you'll be able to upgrade to Zen 3\4 eventually while this Intel platform is dead end. The difference in RAM clocks speeds doesn't matter that much. Dell prebuild has bigger SSD, i don't see a gaming PC with just 250GB of storage so you'll probably need to add another SSD to AMD prebuild. We can't say if there's some other differences since they don't list them (PSU, GPU, motherboard) but there are most likely some other critical differences too.

Why wouldn't you go for DIY ? You're afraid to make a build yourself ? If you have Microcenter in your state you can buy all the parts and pay them to build it.
