Google terminating Google Cloud Print

I'm a GSuite user and today I got this e-mail. Sounds like Google is pulling the plug on Google Cloud Print.

Guess I'll finally have a good enough reason to get rid of my old junky printer and get one that has WiFi and AirPrint support.

Cloud printer is lot more useful than Stadia, now we all have to rely on manufacturer software to get internet printing now.

I never understood why that service existed, or why you would want to send these things to Google given their history.

 

I mean printers are already hell boxes if you have to administer them, and the Windows Print Server has been hot garbage going on for decades now.

 

Like the CEOs of companies, mostly the older ones, still only rely on printing crap, as do accountants so would be a great way to get information on Googles competitors

i remember using google print back in 2011/2012, it was pretty good, but i never used it much

I mean,What kind of profitable data can you get from spying on a printer?!

frankly, I'm glad. google cloud print breaks waaay too much, and refuses to work with me
