Posted November 12, 2019 Ok, so I was pretty set on the OnePlus 7, however I thought I'd check and see what the general consensus with you cunts is before I make any final decisions. Ideally I'd go for one of the middle of the road ones, as I think I might try the 3rd iteration of the Galaxy Fold, so this phone would only have to last me a year. Phone use: eBay auctions, general texting, replying to emails, etc No real gaming Not a lot of photography Watching YouTube videos while I play Hearthstone Battlegrounds Phone wants: UFS storage No eMMC crap Large screen 6" or larger, preferably north of 6.3" Some form of fingerprint reader Ideally on the body, but I'll take a second gen under display or decently fast one as well Cases I'd like a decent selection of cases, or at least some solid choices Fast charging Ideally something over 25w, but it's more of a nicety Phone don't wants: No Huawei Just. No No Apple Not yet, at least. Maybe in the future, just not ready to make that leap No LCD panels I just can't ditch AMOLED So, here are the phones I'm considering: OnePlus 7 $599 Checks most of the boxes OnePlus 7T $799 Faster charging than the 7, higher refresh display OnePlus 7T Pro $899 Also checks most boxes, including a nicer larger screen size, higher refresh, however...that price Moto Z4 $599 The Moto Mods make it a beast in most terms, but it falls short in a lot of spec list battles Moto Z3 Play $250 Not quite at the level of the rest, but that price Realme X2 Pro $550 It's a Chinese phone in every sense of the term, but the specs are top notch. I only worry about how the Android skin is, and security updates Google Pixel 3A XL $500 So, this is another one I'm unsure of. It ticks some boxes, but the screen's kind of small, no fast charging, it's kind of big for it's screen size, etc LG G8x $975 Super solid phone, gets excellent battery life (best out of all phones listed, even beats the 5,000mah Asus Zenfone), but cameras are potatoes Here are the phones I won't consider: Samsung A series Decent on paper, but not the greatest build quality OnePlus 7 Pro Battery life isn't up to par OnePlus 6T Under display fingerprint reader is apparently lackluster, pricing is same as the 7 Samsung Galaxy S9+/S10 Battery life isn't up to par. S10+ is also not as much of an improvement as I'd like Xiaomi Mi 9T Doesn't support the bands I need Google Pixel 3 XL Battery life meh, too many issues Yeah, that's a lot to read through. If you have any phone suggestions I haven't thought of, I'm all ears. If you've had some experiences with any of the phones above and want to offer some praise, or reasons not to get them, I'm also all ears for that. Thanks fam! Opinion, no, but someone might have had some horrible experience with one of the phones, or heard something about them that I haven't thought of. Really, any of the phones do what I'm looking for. That's why they're in the consideration list. Though the OnePlus 7, Realme X2 Pro, and Pixel 3A XL are front runners for sure. True, but there could also be widespread issues I just haven't heard of If you don't ask, you'll never know. I buy a new phone yearly. Posted November 12, 2019 I have no experience with many of these phones but I did buy a OnePlus 7T Pro about a week ago, I came to it from the iPhone Xs max (galaxy S10 and note 9 before that) and apart from the camera being marginally worse than the other phones mentioned the user experience is significantly better. The 90Hz display is the best I've ever used and the pop up camera while a little gimmicky is pretty great. Battery life has been pretty great so far, getting me through a full day at 75-80% brightness on 1440p at 90Hz. Any other questions just let me know and I'll reply asap

The main drawback for me is the absence of headphone jack and notification LED (and no always-on display) but still the best bang for the buck at the moment. I'm hoping the shop that carries them here has a Black Friday sale. 15 hours ago, IAmAndre said: I got mine this month for $420 shipping + shipping insurance included on Gearbest and love it so far. Yeah, that's about what it would cost me too. I forgot it didn't have an LED notification light, that'd actually be a huge annoyance for me. Hmmm. 12 hours ago, huilun02 said: Then get the cheapest of the lot Every phone only lasts me a year, so using that as a reason to choose the cheapest isn't too accurate. 59 minutes ago, amdorintel said: tax write off? Or are you the one deciding to only use them for a year? Then the problem is, well, you. I either want to try something different, or sell it before it loses too much value. All this factors into the resale value of the device. The premium for the OP7T is not worth it. The SD855+ is basically an overclocked SD855. And the larger battery only compensates for the additional power to drive 1440p. Turn on 90Hz and lose a chunk of battery life. The OP7 is also smaller, thinner and lighter. While having a battery of good capacity. That in itself is a selling point. The 7T is 1080p not 1440, the 7T Pro is the one with the 1440p display
