In all honesty, I am surprised that more mobile chips are not offered for socketed desktop applications from conventional manufacturers. But then again that is a fringe case at best, and installing a hacked BIOS is not too hard.

So I picked up a modified 10980hk to replace the i3 8100 in my Z370 board

And with a 5ghz* overclock it get a 9200 point vray score

Been running since Dec 2021 and so far no abnormal behaviour or bluescreens

8c/16t

1/2 core: 5.3ghz

3/4 cores: 5.2ghz

5/6 cores: 5.1ghz

7/8 cores: 5.0ghz

1.375v

85*c max

Memory dual channel 3200mhz klevv

Cooler:h100i xt rgb

Liquid metal by thermal grizzly

After my experience with this cpu, I'd love to see a video testing the entire 10th gen  modified line.
