AMD Ryzen 3700X vs 3600

So basically i am making a bit of an upgrade for myself and for now here is what it looks like:
Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz 2x8GB CL16 - 80€
MSI X470 GAMING PLUS MAX - 130€
ADATA GAMMIX S11P 512G - 80€
COUGAR MX310 Middle Tower - 40€
And finally the question of the thread: AMD RYZEN 3700X or 3600.

Overall price with some weird coupon like thing at checkout: 675€ (3700X) and 544€ (3600)

Now these are all the parts i need for myself, i already have a GPU, HDD and PSU. I just want a new case since i'm gonna give my old stuff to a family member that has been using a Lenovo office computer. Now the thing is the reason i want the 3700X not only because it has 2 extra cores AND is gonna be more productive. The real reason is because i can afford it, but it's not like i can't use the money elsewhere. I am quite well aware that i'm not going to be receiving GRAND performance gains for around 60% more money, since the 3600 here costs 215€ while the 3700X costs 350€. So basically i'm at a bit of a loss.

One thing i can afford with the price difference is the Sennheiser GSP 500 (143€) headset. My current one is the GSP 301, but the covers on the ear pieces have both ripped and are losing their upmost weird skin looking layer.
Other than that i have been thinking about going for a 1440p monitor since i only have a 1080p one that does 72Hz . . . but the one i can afford is 75Hz, natively, although my current one is 23,8 the one i'm looking at is 27 inches. Also it's the Acer KG271Ubmiippx if anyone was wondering, basically quite a bit more expensive than the GSP 500.

Unless you plan to stream or do video editing, then stick with the 3600. Differences in gaming will be nominal (depending on the game). If you're not just going to game, then a used 2700 or 2700X might be a better consideration.

Having more cores doesn't mean your system is magically more productive... You need a workflow that will benefit from it.

The 3600 having 6c/12t already is very capable for handful of tasks.

I got myself a 3600 and im plenty happy with it, its all i could afford, was originally going into Microcenter to get a 2700 and then found out they had the Ryzen 3000 flashed b450 boards and the 3600 was under 200$ at 189$ ($30 Board+CPU combo discount didnt hurt either)

That said, IF you plan on trying or doing any streaming, id suggest the 3700x, the 3600 can handle it but the difference is more noticeable there between when im streaming something or not, that said the 3600 seems to have enough overhead that watching youtube while playing a relatively demanding game doesnt seem to have a impact on games performance, so you can still do light multitasking if you wish.

Gonna be doing editing whenever i feel like it. Streaming here and there, also whenever. Just want to have the option. Also i think i need more cores to put out higher quality high FPS videos. Thinking in 1440p60fps. Because well, i might be getting the aforementioned peripherals, but maybe better as time goes on.

Depends on what you see as light multitasking. Im currently looking at at least 20 tabs in Firefox. And it's not the only program im running.
