Asus Prime x570-p Sata port question

So I use a M2 ssd and i'm trying to figure out which sata ports are disable so I can also use my Hard drive that I have.

 

I have it in the second slot which is on the bottom area of the motherboard. If anyone can help. I tried looking at the manual and I'm unsure which part would show it.

You don't need to disbale the sata ports. You just need to change the boot priotrity to your SSD

they disable certain sata ports that cant be used. My SSD is already boot priority.

It's in the manual...which m.2 slot you used? Read the manual it'll tell you which sata ports are affected...

Since it's not stated anywhere in the manual then no sata port(s) shares the lane...just like my msi meg x570 ace you can install every sata ports...

so why won't my hard drive be detected anywhere if its plugged in etc. some ports have to be disabled and idk which ones they are

Is the hdd new? If it's new just run drives manager and create volume(s)...

just bought it the other day for the whole build i made. it's a Seagate BarraCuda 1TB Internal Hard Drive HDD – 3.5 Inch SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 RPM 64MB Cache

wait not like this its picking up my hard drive and not my ssd 

 

just looked and noticed I installed windows on my hard drive and not my ssd when downloading it it asked me which drive 0 or 1 and i thought 0 was my hard drive fack me.

 

but its not showing my ssd anywhere

no i dont think so from what I just pulled up

Press the windows key..then type in partition this will appear...open it if it's connected it'll show...if it's a new ssd you have to make it as nvme then you can start creating volumes...

well it shows disk 0 and 1 and says 1 is unallocated

Disk 1 is your ssd...to start using you need to allocate the space...for eg.

If it's a new built you can just install windows to disk 1...go to bios and set the boot priority to disk 1...then when you reached windows format the hdd...booting from ssd takes less then 30s...hdd takes more then 2 minutes...xD

Yeah I'm resetting the windows to install onto the ssd the only problem was the ssd wasn't showing as an option on the bios the first time just the HDD

Unplug the hdd then...then the pc has no options but to install there..hehehe

Meaning like I had the option to install on drive 0 or 1 when doing it but it wasn't showing both on the bios

Anyway...after selecting the language, time,keyboard...windows keys entered or skipped by choosing I have no key...selecting the windows 10 version you're going to use like windows 10 home x64...accepting the terms...install windows...

 

the next screen should shows what drives and partitions you have..just select drive 1 here and click next...

 

Assuming you're using a usb installer made using the media creation tool on windows's website...
