Why wouldn't they stay in the same place to take the screen shot?  If someone can do a better comparison then maybe I'd believe it.

What's to say they didn't change the settings between taking screen shots?  Even if that does happen, AMD are in the process of improving and making optimisations to Mantle which could fix it.

So basically what's being said in that thread is the fps boost is due to there being less to render due to the fog.

looks like render distance is decreased aswell

Been hearing bad things about Mantle lately. But the driver is still in beta so I guess its reasonable to have bugs. Hope it gets fixed ASAP to give users the best Mantle experience.

Its a bug in BF4, not Mantle itself, if you didn't read the tweet on the article.

 

And from what I have heard and seen, it isn't really bad things about Mantle, but rather, it wasn't as amazing as expected. I think the majority thought it would give a great performance increase in fps, but instead it wasn't as much of fps increase as it was a way to remove cpu bottlenecks and make the hardware more efficient. Still pretty awesome though.

I have installed the BF4 patch along with the updated driver from AMD and noticed quite a bit of stuttering in BF4 when switched to Mantle in graphics.  I have recently switched back to DirectX11 until another update is released.

Oh my bad. :/ I have seen people with 7xxx cards and it doesn't seem to be that optimized as people are getting stuttering and lower fps. But once they optimize and tweak it I think it will be a great.

Anything using mantle that is a 32-bit game i'm using sweetfx soooo washed out colors don't affect me much.

When something new launches, never jump on it immediately.

 

 

More accurately, jump on it if you know what you're doing and don't complain when something breaks because being on the cutting edge means you need to learn to deal with that.

I have an HD 7850 and the second i installed my driver i got 5 FPS more but i got worse image quality and the game is literally unplayable because of the sudden drops to 3 FPS and the drop lasts about 5 seconds So imagine playin at 3 FPS for 5 seconds every 40 second of the game !
I rolled back to the old driver 14.1 is really not what i expected :/

People need to stop loosing it straight off the bat. DICE are the first team of devs to use Mantel and their was always going to be bugs in either drivers or Battlefield patches with supporting it.
