Best way to clean inside of PC (are alcohol wipes safe)

They are safe as long as the system is powered off, and everything is dry before you start it up again.

Hey!

My pc has fallen into a bit of disrepair recently and is caked with dust. I want to give it a proper clean, but im not sure compressed air is good enough to get it all off. Are alcohol wipes safe to wipe down the backplate of my gpu and insides of the case?

thanks :)

You can give it a bath with water or alcohol and just make sure it dries completely.

Though try with compressed air first.

baby wipes or alcohol wipes kinda fall apart easily, how thoroughly are you gonna clean it?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Its just really dusty and I want to make it look nice again so as much as possible without taking any of it apart.

taking the graphics card pit and wiping with a paper towel is recommended, and good luck cleaning your CPU heat sink without compressed air just by reaching inside your PC

Just use a DeWALT 60v brushless leaf blower. It's what I use and works pretty well (I'm not bullshitting, I really do use it to dust out my PC, and my window air conditioners).

Use an air compressor if possible, usually get's the job done and is quick and easy. You can buy an electric air duster on amazon for like $40 that get's the job done just as good.

I need to try that on my air conditioner, last time I had to remove the dust from the AC core with a toothbrush.

The stuff caked on from the moisture won't come off as easy. But just dust alone will. The front grill in front of the filters don't get all too clean because of the caking. But it still works.
