Low FPS on RTX 2080+ 8700k

Roci

I have a PC with an RTX 2080 and i7 8700k 4.7ghz

Whenever I play Overwatch I don't get consistent 300fps whilst most steamers do..

Why does this happen? What could bottleneck it?
I have my Overwatch on lowest settings and 75% render scale + max fps setting on 300

Sounds like the opposite of what you'd want to do.

What is the usage on the system as you didn't provide any details while gaming?

At what resolution are you playing?

^ These are whilst playing Overwatch in the Training area, so not much going on 98-100% GPU usage

So is the training area reaching the frames you expect then? Also which unigine benchmark is that?

isnt a good test overall given how they run. But I’d still expect more FPS in it.

In training area it's stable 300 fps

Through out a competitive match where everything is organized and a lot of stuff happening at the same time it can dip to 240 but does reach 300 sometimes.
The benchmark is Superposition, the score I'm getting is higher that what other people get with the same setup, thats why I think its weird

I have same rig and play same game at same settings u won’t get locked 300 FPS bro it’s not a thing u will be close to it but won’t be locked,

drops to 240 are unnoticeable

u will notice that ur gpu isn’t at full usage either.

basically it’s the games sim time and depends also on how other people’s pc are talking to the server etc and that causes bottleneck within the game engine

-13600kf

- 4000 32gb ram

-4070ti super duper

I just played a match of CSGO and I had 200-300 fps
On my old rig (i7 4790k and GTX 970) I had almost stable 280 fps.. :/ Something is really wrong
I also noticed that only one core is getting used fully

On the new rig? Prolly need to test it see how it’s performing.

Ensure all the cores that should be used are and boosting and seeing appropriate usage. Same with the card. See what’s holding it back. Normal trouble shooting at this point.

You are comparing CS:GO vs Overwatch. Hello? Of course it will be different FPS when you compare apples and pairs. Game engines also come into play, to keep stable 300fps in overwatch is unrealistic as scenes change very second. Important note from what I saw is that Overwatch can be RAM bottlenecked, what ram/how much you have and speeds?

Of course it has different FPS values, but I'm just trying to say that something wrong cause of that my previous build had more fps
I have 16GB 3600mhz with XMP, dual channel
