Looks like a pretty slick build.

Are you just gaming, or doing cpu intensive work as well? The 4930k might be a bit overkill.

If money isn't an issue though, it's a good choice :)

Yeah, I plan on streaming with it which is very CPU Intensive. The reason I opted for the 4930k over the i5 4670k or i7 4770k is because I dont want to and dont have enough room for a dedicated streaming rig. I might if I can get a new smaller MoBo for my current i7 3770k (Currently in a Gigabyte G1 Sniper 3 Z77 EATX Board) and a smaller case for my current setup also (Themaltake Level 10 GT Snow). But with this setup I can sell that build for a good chunk of change and still have a beastly setup

DAMN! I mean if you got 3k it's great but you don't need all that for streaming or 1440P. What are your current rig specs?

Do you live in a major city? You should try sourcing one of the cpu's from Craigslist. I know in the cities close to me there's a few listed for around $350 bnib, because of the Intel deals around the holidays.

Don't want to wait for Maxwell? That's the only other thing I'd consider.

You may just want to upgrade your gpu to a 780ti and sell the 670s. I'm make a build using 3K for my budget :)

I live in a "Small" Major Capitol City (Indianapolis) I could look around for a local person selling one but when I did that for my current build they either were none around or horribly overpriced because people thought they were worth more than they really were (Some people were charging upwards of $500 for a 3770k.)

And yes, as the old saying go's if you wait, there is already something better right around the corner even if its new

A 4770k is more than enough to be able to stream at 1080p 60fps no problem?

Not from my experience, I dip below 30 FPS while streaming at 720p @ 30 FPS on my 3770k. And its not my internet (30 Down 10 Up)

Very true, but if you already have a pretty beast system...

Hah, yeah. Looking through the classifieds and seeing 5770's and such for $140 always makes me cringe.

Depends what your software is and your settings. I stream 720p 30fps with zero problems on my i3.

This is what  would use as a very high end streaming/gaming PC: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2Mmvf

edit: the big psu doesn't need to be there but the fan wont turn on so it will be silent :)

I honestly dont see the point of upgrading from a 3770k to a 4770k. Wasnt the only real big change from those chips was a slightly better IPC and a better iGPU? My train of thought was "Go Big or Go Home" Plus with that setup, I wouldnt be able to push 120+ FPS on high and ultra in games like BF4 and Planetside 2 @ 1440p from the reviews Ive seen?

CPU Cooler:  Corsair H110 94.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  ($109.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard:  Asus Rampage IV Extreme EATX LGA2011 Motherboard  ($419.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Storage:  Corsair Force Series GT 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk  (Purchased For $0.00)
Storage:  Corsair Neutron Series GTX 240GB 2.5" Solid State Disk  (Purchased For $0.00)
Storage:  Samsung 840 EVO 500GB 2.5" Solid State Disk  ($309.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card:  EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB Video Card (2-Way SLI)  ($769.99 @ Amazon)

I see you already own a couple ssds.. and yet you are looking at buying an 840 evo? Are you going to sell the other ones? It's not like the 840 EVO is going to be particularly faster anyway. What you could do is buy a 140$ 240gb Crucial M500 and then raid it with the neutron gtx. That will give you 480gb of storage for a lot less money and they are both around the same speed so it should work without wasting performance. Then I would just sell the Corsair force series on craigslist or use it to upgrade a laptop or something.

As for the prices on superbiiz, don't trust them and buy from Amazon, NCIX, Newegg, or tigerdirect instead. Superbiiz is not recommended at all...

The ram is overpriced, but then again if you have the money and want some sexy dominator platinums, I can't fault you.

For the CPU cooler, if you want watercooling I would go the custom loop route or just go air if you're too lazy to do the whole custom thing. AIO coolers are not too good.. especially noise wise. And temps on air coolers will often beet AIO coolers.

Another thing I am wanting to do is serious overclocking on this CPU. Granted I know I wont get as good of Overclocks and cant push as much Voltage with a AIO Liquid Cooler but its better than an Air Cooler

I do the same except I have to drop the bitrate because of my upload but it doesn't degrade my quality that much. Strange you would have problems though...

I was planning on using the Force GT as my OS Boot Drive, the Neutron GTX as my main program/Benchmark software drive, and the Samsung 500GB as my Game Drive.

I was planning on buying from NCIX and Newegg anyway, this was just a part listing. I dont really want to do a Custom Loop because I don't trust myself with it, plus I dont care about noise because I always have a noise cancelling headset on so noise is a non issue.

Yeah. If you want a completely new system a 4770k is worth the $30 or whatever it is. If you want to upgrade your current system a 3770k is a great CPU. I have one myself :) and true. But my 780 gets 60 FPS in games like BF4 on ultra in 1440P. 120 FPS is nice but one 780ti to will get you 70-80 FPS. Is that worth the $700 dollars extra to you?

Money is a non issue for this build but I still want to stay reasonable (Thats the reason I didn't just go 4960x and Quad SLI 780Ti's  :P ) So yes, I do think the extra 780Ti (The version I listed is the EVGA Classified Version) is worth it. I want to get that 120 FPS @ 1440p :)

CPU:  Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($289.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard:  Asus Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($199.79 @ Newegg)

Video Card:  Asus GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB Video Card (2-Way SLI)  ($699.99 @ Newegg)
Case:  Corsair 750D ATX Full Tower Case  ($159.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $2199.74
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

And spend the rest of the budget on watercooling it to get the best performance. If you are uncomfortable with watercooling, get the Cooler Master Glacier 240L. It performs really well and can oc that 4770k easily to 4.5 ghz no problem.
Happy building :)

Yeah, like I said, I am really uncomfortable with custom liquid cooling. I would prefer to stick with AIO Coolers if I could. Also, How much of a performance increase would I see in benchmarks and streaming with the 4930k over the 4770k? Would I still be able to hit at least 90 FPS while streaming on at least high settings in most modern games?
