Mbp 13 2019 or xps 13 2019

I need a good Ultrabook for daily college use. I'll be using this for coding and media consumption most of the time. I'm basically confused between the two I have mentioned but other suggestions are also welcome. And if someone knows a good ultra portable gaming laptop under $1300 please let me know.

Another thing, I have never used a Mac device before and I'm too deep into windows but I'm totally comfortable with making the switch.

If you were to make the switch, the base model 2019 13" MacBook Pro is a good option. Students can get it for $1,200 and you get a pair of wireless beats that you can sell or keep.

Avoid current macbook. They are extremely unreliable and failure prone. From thermals to the abysmal keyboard that sparked lawsuits to the touch bar glitches and T2 cancer, they are just horrid. Easily the worst Macbook released in the past 10 years.

The XPS 13 also has its fair share of issues. I would personally not buy it. As for portable cheap gaming laptop. Asus GA502 with a Ryzen 7 3750H and 1660 Ti and 120Hz screen. It's small, light and has a massive battery that lasts aboylut 7-8 hours

Not exactly. I'm trying to decide whether to get a gaming laptop or Ultrabook for my use case under $1300.

The Gram is a decent machine. Not very durable but the battery is massive

There have been no reported incidents of keyboard issues with the 2019 models. Those models are not part of any current lawsuit and the replacement program is a good faith gesture.

No. Nobody has reported having any problems with the 2019 gen of keyboards.

Actually, one of my coworkers sent hers for repair about 4 weeks after getting it - same keyboard thing. Could be isolated but I'm pretty certain the keyboard issues will continue to pop up.
