I can safe remove my C:\ drive. WHAT??? Help!

I just upgraded my system to a X470 Tachi from ASRock and a 3900X and I didn't reinstall Windows. It still works fine, but now I can safe remove my C:\ drive for some odd reason.

I want to remove that option so I don't eject it on accident someday. Anyone has any idea how to fix this?

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

You mean that on the taskbar there is the eject option?

Go to bios, and disable Hot-Swap for the C:drive.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Did you do a clean install of the operating system?

No. Didn't seem like it was necessary. Windows works just fine. Just that one oddity.

You should. When changing a platform, a OS reinstall is highly recommended to avoid future problems and absurd situations.

Again, the OS should always be a clean install else you are facing a high chance of performance, stability or functionality issues.

What if I get this icon while hot-swap is disabled? Is there a Windows setting for this?

I looked around, but couldn't find anything about it.

Ok, @Origami Cactus. I figured it out:

My hot-swap option in the BIOS was off by default, but apparently my motherboard has 2 SATA ports that are hot-swap enabled all the time... So a quick move of SATA cables fixed the problem :)

Wouldn't it object with a "device busy" or something anyway when trying to eject C:\? At least, I'd hope so, but with Windows you never know :P
