Surface Pro $400 price cut ($499)

DLM_012

I would have tagged the title with the countries this applies in but I'm not sure all the places are they operate. I know Canada and US for sure...

The Verge:

Microsoft’s original Surface Pro isn’t even a year old yet, but it has been superseded by the Surface Pro 2. It appears that Best Buy still has some stock of the original model that it wants to move this weekend. We've seen some price reductions on the Surface Pro before — including cuts following the Surface Pro 2 release — but Best Buy is offering a massive $400 discount on the original retail price, bringing the Surface Pro down to just $499.99. While the old model doesn’t have an adjustable kickstand and the improved battery life with Intel’s Haswell chip, it’s still largely the same otherwise. You get a 10.6-inch 1920 x 1080p display with a Wacom digitizer and stylus, along with 128GB of storage. Best Buy’s Surface Pro deal is only available today and tomorrow online and in stores, and if Windows isn’t your thing then there’s also $100 off all Apple MacBooks

I'd pick one up today but the battery life situation just isn't worth it. I think they get 4hrs max. I already have a Zenbook so the hit in battery life would be huge. Anyone shopping for a laptop in this price range shouldn't hesitate. This is easily the best value

It isn't a $400 price cut, the current MSRP is $599 so more like a $100 price cut.

Pro not RT model

$499 for a tablet is just a ripoff no matter who makes it. Plus, the fact it doesn't come with their keyboard cover is even more of a ripoff!

No it's not, and not it's not.

I purchased a surface pro from this deal. I borrowed my cousins to play league on to make sure it would work to satisfaction. Happier with the surface pro than I was with the Razer edge pro, that's for sure.

Especially since the Zenbook really isn't much heavier.

That's why I haven't bought a tablet. I have a Series 9. It's only around a pound heavier, and get's much better battery life. Plus I have a real keyboard, and more than one USB port..
