CS:GO low FPS on high end hardware

So I have a problem with CS:GO.

I used to be able to get around 190-200 FPS on CS:GO at 1440p. I hadn’t played in a while and so when I open the game, I realize that I am getting around 30-40 FPS on 1080p.

I am playing with a water cooled R7 2700X and an RX570 (just to hold me off until i can afford Navi).

Whack the drivers, clean them out completely, and re-install.

Ok, I’ll use that as a last resort. But is there something in the settings of CS:GO that might be causing this?

Turns out that vertical sync was disabled. Could that be why?

No, vertical sync should be disabled.
