Software tips for building/designing a custom case?

I'm looking for a software that's great for designing a custom case. I'm talking about something that you can sketch a plan up in, to get measurements and visualisations on how stuff will fit. I literally have 0 experience with these kinds of softwares, or even whats out there. I've heard of Google SketchUp, AutoCAD and a few others. I've also heard people like to use blender (which I've used a lot) but it doesnt seem to fit the purpose too well.

SketchUp seems to have usermade content for it when it comes to stuff like PC Components, which obviously makes the task 10 times easier.

Have you done this before? What software would do you recommend?

SketchUp (now not owned by Google anymore I think) is indeed a good choice because of its ease of use and premade models by others.

AutoDesk Inventor is what used 'in the industry' I believe. Most AutoDesk products are free if you register with your University email address.

What @Minibois said. And also There is Solidworks, very good 3D modeling program but not as cheap as the others.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

Spending $15,000 to get a license for CAD software to design a replacement for a $200 computer case.

I recommend SDRC
