So,i have a lenovo thinkpad laptop with an i5 4200m,2core 4 thread cpu,

should i leave hyper threading on?

Would that improve my gaming performance,or should i turn it off

Hyperthreading will likely improve game performance by quite a lot on a dual core.

Why would you need to turn it off?

Intel recommends every one using Kaby Lake and older to deactivate Hyperthreading to prevent security exploits.

 

But yeah just leave it on.

You'd potentially want to turn it off due to the zombieload exploit but I'd say as long as you're not a total tool it's probably fine.
