I think this is a phone made by Microsoft :) (carrying Nokia-name, since they bought Nokia's mobile department). Real Nokia is probably not developing phones right now, or if they were (oh, I hope they were), they won't probably tell anything about it until the end of 2015.

I don't think so. Why would Microsoft put out a phone with Android when they have their own OS?

That makes no sense.

Hmm... Actually you are right. Microsoft doesn't technically own Nokia yet, right? I mean, the deal has been made, but it has not been put in action yet.

This Android-thing makes so much more sense now! :D

They don't own Nokia, but they own their mobile smartphone division. Nokia's not allowed to put out any handsets with their name on it until 2016.

If I had a kid in grade school, this is the sort of phone I'd get him/her. Something cheap and easily replaceable if lost or broken, and can still be a phone that gets the job done. Kids don't need the bleeding edge of technology.

This seems to be a budget phone but with an updated Android version which is great. But hope that the UI won't be heavily modded as I like the Kitkat status icons (hope they keep them).

looks like WP8 or an old persons phone UI

Actually I'm curious to see how this one works. According to google this specs should be enough for kitkat, if priced right (C-note or better) it might do ok internationally on developing markets where people can't really afford even a modest plan and just get disposable, chinese no-brand droids with similar specs. The mere fact that this is a more established Brand will definitely win over a lot of this customers...if priced right.
