Use the front panel of the Meshify C on the Define R6

Hey guys,

So last year when i first build my computer (i said first because i added some other parts over the time) i took the Cooler Master Masterbox Lite 5 RGB not because of the RGB (there's not one single light in my computer ahah) but because it was cheap, big enough and i didn't payed attention to what make a case a good case. So lately i managed to use the front panel of the MB500 on it and 2x140mm NF-A14 from noctua (running at 1100rpm) to improve the airflow of my case and i noticed that on the cpu AND gpu there was a 10°C of difference but now i have an another problem, i want to add more Hard Drives to my computer but there's only two HDD trays so i'm gonna change my case and saw that the Fractal Define R6 seems to be the case i'm looking for (and not too expensive too) and my question is, can i put the front panel of the Meshify C on the Define R6 to improve the airflow ? I saw on a Gamer Nexus review that thermal performance was pretty good on the Define R6 and if i can i really want to improve that even more.

Thanks for those who will reply and sorry if my message is hard to understand, i'm not really good in other languages and even in my native language (so french) i don't know how to be really clear ahah

Different sizes. You want the Meshify S2, it's a mesh version of the R6 basically.

I mean, add a lot more exactly like on the R6 because prefer the HDD trays system like in the R6 than like this (so absolutely no airflow and only three HDD trays)

Watching the videos on the Meshify S2, it doesn't seem to have the same HDD tray setup.

I would contact them and ask if you can use the S2 mesh front on the R6 maybe?  I simply do not know.

@TVwazhere knows cases a lot better, he may be able to help as well.

The Define R6's HDD layout is completely different than the S2 layout (as it has been since the release of the original Define S) which focuses primarally on best in class watercooling support. It is not possible to add any more than 3 HDD bay slots to an S2 natively.

The Define R6 comes with 6 HDD trays by default, and up to 11 total can be purchased separately from Fractal Designs part store. As for your main question, I am unsure if the Meshify front panel can be interchanged with the R6, but my guess would be yes since there's actually very little variation between the R6 and S2.

You could also look into the Phantkes P600S which is basically a Define R6/Meshify S2 combination (I have a full comparison chart in my signature). The case comes with 4 pre installed, but you can get up to 10 drives total with the additional purchase of more cages.
