Maybe this sound a bit odd to you guys but it is stuck in my head for a while.

I think there should be some international partnerchannels to the Mainchannel . for example a german one. And so every channel can provide better understandings in their country.

So what do you think about the idea??

Waaaaay too much work, Germans (and everyone else for that matter) should learn to write and understand English anyways. English is my second language and I have no problems what so ever understanding what Linus (or anyone else) says.

Even this would take quite a bit of time, but a much easier option would be to add subtitles in other languages. All videos have the capability, but I think they need to be put in manually by the uploader. Chances are Linus will choose the easy option and do nothing at all.

Logistically and practically, it doesn't make any sense. English is the most widely spoken language, so surely it makes sense to present the show in English? I'm not sure what further understanding one could gain by having a channel native to their country other than the language barrier.

English is also my second language and i can understand also everything they. But i think you have to lie if you say its easyer to understand then your Main language.

And i dont want Linus to do all the countrys maybe he could me it as a community thing

Understanding English is as easy (if not easier) to understand than Danish for me, we use it in our lives every day and I have done so for the past 15 or so years (as long as I've had a chance). That doesn't matter though, everyone should at least try to master English, it is in my opinion more important than your "main language".

 

As for outsourcing it, no one would do that amount of work for free and it is simply too expensive versus the amount of sense it would make to do it.

You hit the nail on the head. Finding personalities to do video work is hard. Finding multi-lingual ones is harder. Managing them remotely is near-impossible...

I don't know entirely sure how youtubes subtitles work but if community could start translation on maybe TechQuickies and add them as subtitles. That could help everyone but Germans and other east european (maybe french too). You guys would need dubbing.

Subs are a great idea, and much more affordable too, I bet some one from the countries would do it for free! @LinusTech

not necessary, if you mean international in the Justice and Laws side, then it would be French. Maybe the international business language is also Chinese or even Arabic... International is too vague a term to describe a language... Sanish is also international, I mean a whole freaking CONTINENT (excluding Brazil from S. America) and part of another speaks it.

Yeah. Not everyone in USA or Canada speaks english as first language. In Europe only Great Brittain and Ireland(?) speaks it as primary language. Outside Europe its primary language in only those countries that have been Brittish colonies in past. And in there most people still prefer to speak their native languages over english.
