AKS_Adrian

Hey everyone, I am currently looking at some used graphics cards and a titan 6gb or a 1650 4gb has popped up. I was wonder which one is better, thanks.

GTX Titan, according to UserBenchmark: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-Titan-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1650/2191vs4039

What power supply do you have, and how good is your airflow?

The Titan will draw a lot more power and need better airflow than the 1650 will.

I have a 660W psu and my airflow is decent.

If your looking for power go with the Titan if your looking for a cost-effective option go with the 1650.

Is the extra power worth the hotter card?

Better how? the gtx titan is a hotter older card. But is faster then the 1650.

That's the reason I'm a bit unsure, it's faster but it came out in 2013.

If your cooling is adequate and you have a good PSU and you have money to spend then it is worth it but if you don't then its probably best to go with the 1650

Gotta be more specific

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Very true, but don't forget the extra heat can mean running his AC longer or at the very lest heating up his home in the summer.

That is true, it all depends on your situation.

Neither. Get an RX 570 8GB.

I agree.

@AKS_Adrian, in that price segment, you should be going for the RX 570 8GB new.

In that market segment, you can score used RX 580s and RX 480s for similar money as well.

There is honestly zero reason to consider those nvidia cards, unless you have a specific use case for them.

It's actually £25 cheaper than the titan. Is it better than both the 1650 and the Titan?

I live in the UK, it's cold most of the year. A heatwave for us is like 25C.

I wouldn't put a VS with a Titan, low end PSU with high end GPU is never a good idea.

Makes sense. The next thing on my list is a new PSU, so running a high-end GPU will be okay for a few weeks.

Another question is the amount of ram, is 4gb enough for what you are playing and plan to play the next few months/years?

I won't go for a the Titan, looking at the benchmark the performance is not way off.

Pretty similar if you ask me, on the downside, you have a power hog inside your pc.

As many reviewers suggest, 1650 is not recommended.

For the same price or lower, you can get a RX580 which does similar performance, with the benefit of larger vram.

As long as you play 1080p, 4gb will be enough for 2-3 more years.

Why would anyone go for a 1650 when there are faster cheaper cars readily available... or is this simply a bias against cheaper/faster cards because of the 'name' of the brand?

Wouldn't touch a 1650 with a barge pole if I was desperate... complete waste of money.

NO RGB aside from MB and AIO pump. Triple 27" Monitor setup (1x 144hz, 2x 75hz, all freesync/freesync 2)

No price was mentioned so we can't say anything regarding that.

But yeah AKS_Adrian, what are you paying for those cards anyway ?

I just assuming from the option given, over 1080p, i don't see why he preferred both cards.
