I took the job route.

 

I saved $50 a month for 9 months, sold any old PC equipment (and a few other possessions) I had. I had already saved up the rest in the years before as I was planning an upgrade before my PC died. Sadly it died 9 months too soon and I went most of a year without a PC before I bought a new one.

 

Saving up money from job, cutting back on other expenses and selling things you can live without helped.

 

So if you can save $100 a month then it’s just a year away!
