Best Place To Live if money didnt matter

cluelessgenius

lets just day dream for a minute...

imagine you hit the lottery jackpot of like 40+ million bucks.

where would you choose to live.

personally im not sure where would be best but id want somewhere with the mildest weather possible throughout the year. with a nice ocean view maybe.

anyone knows of places with the best weather conditions all year?

also i wouldnt mind a country with less rules for everything. id like to be able to tinker with cars without the german TÜV or similar breathing down my neck.

i thought about islands but i imagine getting anything shipped there would be a nightmare. so maybe cape town south africa? idk? every time i see a beatiful villa online it seems to be from there.

Canada if you like the cold, Portugal if you're more on the warm side.

New Zealand also sounds interesting.

Uruguay also is a valid alternative for south America.

Dunno, if I won that much money I think I'd give away most of it, I don't really need it. Maybe I'd buy a house but I wouldn't want a villa. I wouldn't live anywhere else unless I had no choice or the benefits were extremely convincing, all my friends and family are where I currently live.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

well yeah canada does pretty well in most ranking regarding health care and infrastrcture and so on but i really wouldnt want the cold. portugal sounds interesting. new zealand i fear might have the same problem as small islands where i have a feeling getting anything delivered there might bcome a problem. never really considered uruguay. what makes you suggest it?

well yeah i would probably give some to friends and family as well and leaving them here is a factor but i think id still prefer to a warmer place. also i have at least 1 friend i know would probably move with me if i like gave him enough money so he doesnt have to work ever again. which i would do anyway.

firends and family are for me the only thing i like about this country. everything else sucks.

Yes it's a great country in cultural and education value and you can see it by the great infrastructure it possess, I'd definitely live there before considering northern European countries for the more easy going people without as much apparent stress. However you gotta be into cold for it and I always say "cold is only good for tourism not for living".

If I were to choose an European country to live, it'd Portugal for sure, it has one of the most warm and easy going people, when I lived on UK one of the things that gave me most depression aside the constant "grey/lack of colour" you see everywhere was how much every one seemed snob while at the same time ignorant, I have a latin more "red" skin, neither white or black, and even so I'd get racist commentaries from natural British folk.

Portugal also rivals Italy in good beach locations but in my humble opinion has better food and more welcoming people while having access to all the goodies of modern society.

Yes and no, if you lived on a very secluded country like Micronesia then yeah I can see this being an issue but New Zealand is a fully developed country and with 40millions on your back account you'd not have any issues getting the things you want. The country also is safe and has beautiful environment.

I'm naturally from Hamburg therefore I understand your frustration with Germany better than most, I haven't been to the motherland in years as I really dislike it there as well for multiple reasons, nowadays I live in Brazil and despite being considered a "lower end" country just the fact it has bright vivid colours everywhere already makes it a better living experience...

From all my travels across South America I'd say Uruguay is what reaches the European standard the closest, it is a small really beautiful and organized country with liberal laws, like even weed is legal and everything just works thanks high education standards, it's a bit on the colder side during winters but it can still be very warm during summers and also has great beaches.

Money no object? Cabin in the Rocky Mountains with gigabit fiber and a 10 car garage.

I'm pretty sure my purpose in life is to serve as a warning for others.

Rocky mountains isn't all completely removed from civilization...most of it is national parks after all.

How about, "Cabin just outside of Banff with gigabit fiber and a 10 car garage"

If money is no object I'd like to live in a big house in Cape Town (or Banff) with gigabit fiber, a 10 car garage, an airplane hangar and an airfield.

airfield? to each his own i guess but for me theres no money in the world where id get a private plane or yacht for that matter. the running cost would kill all the fun for me. like even if i had the cash i couldnt enjoy it if i knew that it costs me 50k for a tank of ...cerosin?...i guess idk.

also i find it interesting how inportant internet seems to you guys. obviously you gonna have nice internet in a nice house but i dont knew if it had to be gigbit for me personally. i have a 50k line right now and i have yet to have a moment where i thought "if only this was faster"

40+ million bucks isn't enough money to let me dream. It's pocket change. For dreaming, I'd need at least a few hundred million times that much. Maybe $25.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000 would be sufficient.
