Stuck At 60 FPS, Should Be Getting 120 Frames?

slayerming2

So I have the helio 300 gaming laptop connected with a HP - OMEN by HP 24.5" LED FHD Monitor - Black.

Sadly the laptop doesn't have any displayports, but was told a converter like this would help.

I plugged it in, switched display advanced to 120 frames. And still only getting 60 fps??

You're getting 60fps in games or..?
Because a monitor on its own/the connectors used have zero impact on how much fps your laptop can produce.
