AMD APU laptop or i5 1050 laptop?

Alright guys, I have a dilemma. I'm looking at 2 laptops and I had my sights set on one for a while, since the mobile APU are shite. Well, since they're in Adrenaline I think it's called, the drivers will get better. I'm just going to use it for school work and gamecube games in study hall (because I can). What are your guys ideas?

The HP machine will be faster so i would go with that tbh

If what you're describing is the only use it will get, then the Ryzen 5 laptop would be my choice. If you're going to decide in a few months that you want to play some lightweight games on it, the i5 becomes a better selection. It's all about price here. Is the i5 better? Yes. Is it $175 better? Not if you're just going to use it for schoolwork and emulation.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.
