144hz monitor or new gpu?

Vod

Hello!

So, I was thinking of buying a new monitor, but for most of the games to reach 144fps I would need to buy a new gpu.

The kind of games I play are apex legends, battlefield 5, overwatch...

I have an rx 580 4gb, ryzen 5 2400g and 500w psu.

Why maybe I'll be upgrading the gpu is because in all of the games the the cpu usage ranges from 60% to 80% while the gpu is at 99% usage all of the time.

I'm not buying the monitor or the gpu anytime soon tho, just asking because I'm curious.

By that time, better gpus for an lower price would have come.

Question:
Should I go with the gpu or monitor, a dual monitor setup would be nice but I don't know if I could reach 144fps even if I lower the settings, if I where to go with the gpu, witch one should it be and should I be looking out for something to help reach 144fps (mhz, vram...)

With the rx580 1080p 144hz should be doable, but you may need to play at medium-high.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

I mean it probably can, but not in bf 5 or assassins creed odeysey without me turning the settings all the way down to low

I know in overwatch you'll be more than fine but not sure about the others. I would get the 144hz monitor if I were you.

I have an RX 580 and I bought it to run 1080p as it wasnt that expensive. I have a 144Hz monitor and it does well.

I have had it over a year now and I am saving up to go 1440p.

I will probably buy a GTX 1080 and a 144Hz 1440p monitor. I would rather save up and get a quality monitor than cheap out just to go up in resolution.

The 4gb RX580 won’t last at all, invest in an 8gb model instead.

I would get the monitor. Your 580 should handle a 144Hz display somewhat well, especially in Overwatch.

4GB model has its place, but not for 1440p i guess.

At the end of the day, I'm gonna end up buying both, but I don't know which gpu I should buy after I get an monitor that can hit 144hz on bf5
