Rosewill Ranger M Micro ATX Case $19.99 shipped, 70% mesh front, looks to have good airflow

Tristerin

Basic, budget - Id get it if I didn't get the last MATX case I liked on sale ($17 shipped) - this one looks to have superior airflow - but less cable management (that side panel does come off, doesn't look like much room though from the pics) and uglier interior (not painted, ketchup and mustard wires)

I don't mind the lack of front USB3, might be a deal killer for some!

Basic, budget

That describes this case perfectly. You can expect sharp edges, tight spaces, decent hole alignments, flimsy construction, things like that. I like working around those types of things. Helps to keep you completely focused on building and to take your time and be delicate. No USB 3.0 in the front is not a deal breaker. The 2 fans are a great addition but do keep in mind that the rear exhaust fan is only 92mm, not 120. While that's not a deal breaker, keep in mind that finding a blue led 92mm replacement fan in the future could be a little tougher than expected. But this shouldn't be an issue since you don't really need the rear exhaust to be blue led since there is no side glass panel. This case hits this price range about once every 2 months, sometimes once a month. Great for budget builds and will exceed expectation imo. Thanks for the heads up on the price.

I'd almost say don't bother, yes it cheap and if that's all you care about then it's fine. I bought the same cause around 6yr's ago and was way below my standards for even a 40$ case, and my case standards are pretty low. Both usb plugs died in about 1 month, edge's are very sharp no cpu backside cut out etc.. Gpu temps where very high in this case. Even after a lot of case mods I did to the case, I felt bad selling it for 20$.

I've used this case on budget builds several times. Even a couple of midrange builds where my budget was largely blown by other components coming in higher than expected. It's actually nicer than it looks and not a nightmare to work in. A few pros and cons are below.

Pros:

  • Comes with two fans, including a blue LED
  • Build quality is good for the price; a little flimsy but not nearly as bad as the low-budget Raidmax and Thermaltake $30-40 options out there.
  • Most of the edges are rolled IIRC, meaning that while there are a few opportunities to shed blood, you're probably not going to slice and dice your fingers like you would in a prebuilt case.
  • There's a surprising amount of room behind the drive cages to hide cables, and there's just enough room behind the motherboard tray to run things like fan or LED/RGB cables. The drive cages also give you lots of room to hide cables.
  • Despite the low price, it still looks good enough to pass itself off as a decent case for someone who has a budget of $500 and would rather see that go towards a Ryzen 5, B450 board and RX 580 than sink $100 of it into a case.

Cons:

  • This case regularly goes on sale for around this price, so this isn't exactly a once-in-a-lifetime thing
  • Even though there's lots of room behind and in the drive cages for cables, you're still going to have to get those cables there, and the 8-pin and 24-pin cables are going to look messy no matter what. Fortunately, there's very little window into the case's soul, and no one's going to see that mess.
  • Zero liquid cooling ability, even for a 120mm AIO, without cutting away part of the 3.5" drive cage or drilling holes in the top. I wouldn't recommend modding this case in any way, shape or form, because it would be very easy to do something that completely ruins its structural integrity.
  • Dust filtration is poor, and combined with the low fan placement, this case will get dirty inside.

Overall feelings: I would definitely use this case again. It's not the blood donation facility that most cases in the under-$50 market are, and it's actually pretty easy to build in. The two included fans are both solid and fairly quiet if they're being controlled from the motherboard, the airflow is good for a case this price, and the whole thing actually looks pretty nice when finished. It's not anywhere near the best case I've ever worked with, but far, far from the worst (looking at you, Logisys).

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

Really awesome to see User Case reviews!  I honestly would grab this up if I didn't have another empty MATX case under the bed frame lol - as the airflow (mesh) looks to be fairly good.
