RTX 2060 Vs Vega 56

Midniteb0ne
Go to solution Solved by Morgan MLGman,

RTX 2060 is around 7% faster on average over Vega 56 at 1440p, but it has less VRAM and looking at the price difference I'd get the Vega 56 without thinking.

Should I get the gigabyte winforce oc Vega 56 for 279.99$ or should I get the ZOTAC amp RTX 2060 for 349.99$.

BTW I have an R5 1600 @3.9GHz

It's a no brainer. The vega 56 at that price wipes the floor with the rtx 2060. It'll last longer with the 8gb vram + hbcc and it's not far off in performance. Only one winner.

I would go for the Vega 56 like all the others said, it is much better value and has more VRAM.

Workstation:

Intel Core i7 6700K | AMD Radeon R9 390X | 16 GB RAM

Mobile Workstation:

MacBook Pro 15" (2017) | Intel Core i7 7820HQ | AMD Radeon Pro 560 | 16 GB RAM

If I undervolt and overclock it will it be able to make up the lost performance?

Maybe not the full 7% or so but you should get a decent improvement. If you don't care about the longevity, slap an AIO on the core and cool the power delivery properly, and use a registry hack to give it a 272% power target you can even OC them to fight a 2070.

I don't have a good enough PSU for it and I want it to last at least 5 years so NO.

But thanks anyways :)

Somewhat, yeah. Vega 56 is a great card so I wouldn't even consider the 2060 at those prices.
