I've still got a 6s Plus, I don't even like how Apple is trying to go for less bezel. I'd rather have an iPhone 8 Plus over a Xs Max if the 8 Plus had a headphone jack.

Once you go bezel free you can never go back

That said, the crease seems more visible on black backgrounds vs white ones. Guess it’s something to bear in mind for those getting said product.

Huh. That crease looks pretty ok actually. Not visible whatsoever with any amount of content on it (watch the video in the OP's link), unlike huawei's abomination.

 

I'd be ok with that. Of course, not for the price, but that's to be expected.

1. Honestly, 'do I want a foldable phone?' Not really.

2. Do I want a phone that is smaller in my pocket and can become bigger when I want to read or do anything else that a larger phone display does better? Why yes. I do.

 

Since 2 requires 1 (at least for now), I guess that means I want a folding phone.

Or not at all. My time is worth a lot more than $2000 every few years. If there is some benefit that saves me time or makes my life more convenient, then it's very often worth paying. Just because the benefits don't outweigh the costs to you doesn't mean they don't to others. 

 

I could very easily move to Kansas, make the same money, and spend a literal fraction of what I pay now on living costs. As could many people who live in big cities, and yet, we don't because the perks of living in civilization far outweigh the savings of living in the middle of nowhere.

Quite frankly with as many posts as a lot of users have on this forum, that of which requires a massive time investment, I would argue that yours is not that valuable.

 

If anything this phone only works to legitimize tablets. Portable, with similar screen real estate and a fraction of the cost.

 

If you pay $2000 for one of these, your life choices should be a much larger concern then a crease in the screen...

You claim your time is valuable but it's clearly often wasted doing shit no one would actually pay you to do. You made this about you, so I'm talking about you. When you can talk from a standpoint of experience then maybe we can discuss your point in more generalized terms.

 

I'm not saying your opinion has to match with mine. I'm saying that logically speaking, whining about a crease in a $2000 early adoption screen should be the least of your worries when looking at the bigger picture. By the way, if you own a vehicle carrying a tablet isn't a burden. I also heard that the trend whores that live for this kind of stuff carry around man-purses so that would also solve your issue of portability.

I fully understood the point you were trying to avoid. 

 

I can have a time sink for when I'm on a subway and still value my time. Not to mention the fact that the vast majority of my posts were from years ago while I was in college. 

 

Even putting all of that aside, I could very easily value the ability to see more content over the miniscule amount of money that $2000 is -- especially when amortized over several years.

Yeah, let me buy a car to carry my tablet. 

 

Aside from the fact that not everyone has a car -- especially people who live in cities with good public transportation systems like NY, Boston, Chicago, etc..., My car can't come into a mall with me, it can't quite fit in a subway, etc... It is also a horrendous mode of transportation in cities like NYC where not only is driving difficult, but finding parking that doesn't cost more than the phone will also be quite a challenge.
