Why am i being blocked froom folders on my own computer for not having permissions??

Jstagzsr

i changed the save location of my camera app and now i cant find any of my saved videos and pix and theres folders on my drives that i am not allowed to open and theres no way to give myself permission that i can see and i cant even delete the folders after switching the save locations back to the original drives...

i keep my drives extremely clean and managed and sorted and it is extremely irritating that i cant access, move, or delete folders on my own drive...

idk if it matters, but:

With the WindowsApps folder, it is owned by windows (or some role indicating the OS and not a user). As admin, you can change ownership of the folder (do so recursively, meaning check the box saying to apply that change to subfolders and files). Then you can change the permissions to let you delete stuff.

I used to do this after uninstalling metro style apps as they don't remove the files themselves, and often keep many versions of that app in there.

Main Rig: R9 5950X @ PBO, RTX 3090, 64 GB DDR4 3666, InWin 101, Full Hardline Watercooling

Server: R7 1700X @ 4.0 GHz, GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB DDR4 3000, Cooler Master NR200P, Full Soft Watercooling

LAN Rig: R5 3600X @ PBO, RTX 2070, 32 GB DDR4 3200, Dan Case A4-SFV V4, 120mm AIO for the CPU

HTPC: i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz, GTX 1050 Ti, 16 GB DDR4 3200, AliExpress K39, IS-47K Cooler

Router: R3 2200G @ stock, 4GB DDR4 2400, what are cases, stock cooler

I don't have a problem...

The folder's owner isn't your account and depending on the permissions flags, Windows will deny access. You can typically change ownership to you or set the permissions flags.

i AM the owner of the pc and my account is literally the ONLY account ON this pc.. thats what i dont understand

Windows has various hidden accounts for behind-the-scenes tasks that are at the same level of access as your account.

Similarly with Linux, there's always one other account besides your own: root.

i figured it out.. thanks guys.. i had to add myself as an owner of the folder.. it wouldnt let me put any variation of my name but when i tried my email address for shits and giggles it let it go through.. so i now have access to it..
