is Linus forcing a Canadian accent, or is this legitimately the way he normally speaks?

I have noticed that once you start trying to imitate an accent more and more, you start unconsciously talking that way more and more.

For example, I occasionally, as a joke on purpose, say a word with the wrong enunciation, but once I did that more and more.. I also started doing it on accident and it would sound super silly

I've noticed that I read things in Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau's voice lately.

 

For a while, I talked like the Ninth and Tench Doctor(constantly using words like allons-y, brilliant, fantastic, etc)

He's got a really badly and over-exaggerated French accent. I find it to be pretty funny, you know.

That's not a Canadian accent thing - even stereotypically, Canadians don't pronounce "out" as "oot". You're maybe thinking of the South Park style stereotype where Canadians say "aboot" - some really rural Canadians might speak like that in some of the Maritime provinces, but even then, as a stereotype it's exaggerated.

 

I'm pretty sure he just laughed awkwardly when he was trying to say "out" and messed up his words.

To me it just sounds like the "o" of "out" got gobbled up by the laugh, nothing more.

I have a good fake Indian accent, and I speak in that accent almost daily as a joke since I look Indian. But the more I do it the more it gets stuck to my natural everyday accent.

Yeah don't know where this Canadian 'aboot' thing came from, it more a Scots word than Canadian and can be heard here...
