Which X299 Motherboard?

Hi,, I'm about to receive the i9-7980XE. Which motherboard do you recommend for overclocking this processor?

Take a look at the RIPJAY and RIPGN videos on the tubes and what they use for overclocking.

Price doesn't matter for this component

I want to leave the possibility open to overclock it to high levels, also may delid the processor in the future

i mean, the MEG is about the best you can get, but it's really expensive

for what workload?

The MEG is for X399,, it's gonna be programming, VMs and some video editting, but I find overclocking performance most important though has to have 8 DDR4 slots instead of the 4 like I see on the EVGA Dark.. which I thought would otherwise be a great choice

btw, just that I've said it... x599 is coming soon, so you might want to wait for that, and if you don't, get a treadripper, it's probably better in most tasks you'll do

LGA 3647 Socket... considering the fact I practically own the 7980XE unless it turns out to be broken or something, I should probably stick with that

well, it's your choice. i highly recommend the MEG creator, aorus master, taichi and there are probably more good boards. in the end it's cost, vrms and features that count.
