Thoughts on Thermaltake psu's

What do you guys think of Thermaltake 650W smart series power supplys?

 

Having some issues with ARC fault breaker tripping and think it might be my psu. Probably going to switch to EVGA 80+. Any recommendations?

Both Thermaltake and EVGA make a range of absolute shit to good PSU's. The Thermaltake Smart 650W fits in to the absolute shit category. Without knowing which model of EVGA PSU you are planning on replacing it with, it's hard to say whether you will be replacing it with a better or worse PSU.

What are your system specs? What country are you in? Budget? We will be able to recommend a good quality, suitable PSU.

MSI B SERIES MOBO

They're alright. I prefer Corsair personally as I've had good luck, and good customer service from them. I like Seasonic as well, but in the higher end, their budget units are no better than what you'll get anywhere else. 

 

Do you mean a standard circuit breaker or and actual Arc Fault/Ground Fault breaker? Arc Fault breakers are notoriously sensitive, and could itself be the problem.

Not to be argumentative, but with all the power supplies on the market now that are true junk, and how even those have improved over the last 10 years, I'm not sure any of them are really Shit anymore.

It is an actual arc fault, I have replaced it twice.

I have had zero issues from my PSU after switching over to EVGA. I'm running a 650W Gold Certified unit and it runs great. I've had trouble with smaller brands in the past and decided to shell out for a decent PSU for a change. In regards to if they're better than Thermaltake units might be up to personal preference more than actual specs. All I can say is that EVGA makes a solid brick and I can't complain in the least.
