Just like we said above... leave the AIO in front as in intake fan (pulls air from outside and brings it into the case), and add a rear one to exhaust (pulls air from in case to push it out the back)..

You want the case to act like a wind tunnel or hair dryer, etc.

Hi, I'm just wondering why my AIO (Corsair H80i V2) is overheating when placed like this:51048605_476599729539111_7697672247405707264_n.thumb.jpg.c7ea76914633ca668ec62ae9d78a652c.jpg

And its temps are normal when placed like this:

I've seen some websites that are placing that same AIO on the rear and not having any temperature problems.

PS: Sorry for the crappy cable management.

Thanks! :)

Airflow.  In front, it's getting cool air from outside the case, and when in back it's having all the hot air from the case run thru it,

My best guess is your GPU is dumping a lot of heat since it's a downdraft cooler and then being drawn through the AIO limiting it's cooling capability. With it in the front it's getting the coldest possible air, you may want to add an extra exhaust fan to help promote flow through the case.

Would placing 2 fans on the front help? I don't have any case fans at the moment, just the fans in the rad. My side panel is also open (still not closing the case until my build is finished.

Leave the AIO in front, add another intake in front and add an exhaust fan for the back.

Or at the very last leave the AIO in front and add an exhaust fan in back.

Did the case not come with any fans at all?

I stress test the CPU to check for its temps. The GPU is running @ 40c since its only CPU intensive benchmark (prime95) and the heat is still rising up to 90-100c. Sadly my case doesn't have top fan slots. Just front. I can't put another fan on the bottom since my cables are there (non modular psu)

As suggested I'd leave it in the front and add a rear exhaust to help move the air through the case to make sure things don't get too toasty inside.

It does come with molex powered nzxt fans which I didn't use since I can't control its speed and only running at a constant speed. Maybe I'll get a set of fans next week. I didn't know that case fans can really affect the temperature of the computer that much.

I will follow that. Last question according to my fans on the rad. Should I place the 2 fans on the opposite direction? front intake, rear exhaust or should I go both intake/exhaust? Sorry for this noob questions. This is my first AIO.

I would do front intake, now I look closer it's actually going exhaust out the front, turning both the fans around so it's push pull as intake should help quite a lot. You want the fans on the rad to both be in the same direction or it will just fight each other yielding no cooling or airflow.

Glad to help.  You should have noticeably lower temps all  around with that new fan config you drew. Or is it you've drawn?  hmm.

That looks good to me, if you can try tucking the cables around the cooler and if they are long enough run them up and around back behind the motherboard tray.

Technically, they work differently. A ceiling fan is creating a wind chill effect by cycling air in the room, but the air enters the fan at room temperature and leaves it into a room temperature environment. There's no change in air temperature associated with it. A case fan is actively pulling room temperature air into the case and displacing the hot air or pulling hot air out of the case and dumping it into the room temperature environment around it. If you want the same effect in your bedroom, cut a hole in your roof and use a 747's engine as your attic fan.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

True but having a person experience the wind chill effect is just the easiest way to pseudo-demonstrate.

A better example would be to open windows on opposite sides of the house to get an airflow path of cool air in the winter, probably should have gone with that.

I prefer the JT9D attic fan, tbqh.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.
