Everything but hoses for loop ordered...need help with name...

Tristerin

Here is what I have ready to build (or in the mail incoming from overseas) as I have finalized a plan - but I cant think of a name for this.  At first I thought I was going to do this rig, then my FX rig, but things have changed and Im back to doing this on my i5, ordered more rads specific for this case (80mm's) and will eventually do a loop in my rig once I update the CPU/MB/Ram.  I am going to leave the outside of the case looking just like it was in 2012... will do a build log once it all arrives (with real pics).  List of parts, pic of case below (stock ext. and interior however going to fill it up)

What should I call this?  Its currently the HTPC in my sig but going to mod it for fun (will still be an HTPC)

*Bold means on order from Aliexpress or Ebay*

What? You're watercooling a pre-built? ..... why?

Could have put together a better computer if you just skipped the watercooling stuff. Watercooling isn't even superior to air, it's just a bit quieter.

Dwight.

Have you done a test fit with the rads, pump and reservoir to make sure it all fits in to the case? Doesn't look like there is a lot of room for it.
You're also going to have a tough time finding any decent motherboards to fit that case. You're limited to BTX motherboards.

I'm guessing building a sleeper. Though honestly if you're using 80mm rads it's not really worth it. I would just go with a low profile noctua cooler instead.

Sleepers are MUCH easier to build with old cases from the 90s and early 2000s. Cases that actually support ATX boards. The only problem I've run into over the years is lack of USB 3 ports, which can be solved by a USB 3.0 5.25" drive bay. I actually have a build in a case so old that it only has USB 1.0 ports. The other problem is that old cases don't usually support 120 or 140mm fans, and 80mm fans are loudish.

1.) The original plan was to build a cheap-o-aliexpress loop for experience.

2.) Its snowballed into 2x240mm radiators, 1x120mm radiators, extra blocks etc also in transit...for my next build and loop

3.) Want the experience, have a hobby and budget I put to this

4.) The mobo came with the case came with the CPU - I bought this pre-built a while back for $140 shipped when my 2nd Fire Stick crapped out...this is a GREAT HTPC lol.  if its not in Transit, I already own it in the parts pile

5.) For fun

6.) Dwight is a great suggestion and made me smirk upon reading it

EDIT - another why - it runs 24/7 and will for another couple years in this use case, so why not...I like quiet as well.  It also serves as a great emulator etc (Have my steam/origin accounts on it etc it plays GTA 5 already in its current form) when friends bring kids over

Rough tape measurements taken, confident I can fit it, going to build it outside then mount it complete and without air in it - Ill have to custom a bracket for the pump/res combo I got.  The CPU cooler is large and takes up a lot of space, once that's gone Ill have a lot more room
