XPS 13 Vs surface laptop 2

Mad153

Hi,

I am a student, and get a student discount on the surface laptop 2.

The surface is £1,050 for 8gb ram 256gb

The XPS is the same, but has a fhd screen.

Link: Dell XPS

I don't tend to use usb ports.

What do you think is better?

which CPU do you get on your config? I'd probably go with the surface, I heard a lot of positive things about it regarding build quality and keyboard. Don't have hands on experience though.

Matebook X Pro. not the Matebook. they are very different devices in terms of quality. there is also the Matebook 13 (not the Matebook X) though im unshure when that lands in the UK.

how much is student discount? it should land close in terms of pricing with that included

Microsoft gives me a student discount, many other retailers don't due to id reasons.

I want it to be light for carrying it to lessons and not too big.

I have a 14" flex 14 (og) and it is too big.

The 13.5" on the surface seems perfect.

The screen is great, 3:2 is a godsend for word and coding.

So many people say it makes such a difference. If you know a laptop which outdoes the surface, tell me.

So what do you recommend?

Just to be clear, I intend to use it for note taking and a bit of visual studio

I want it to be light, but not if it makes major compromises for it.
