Posted February 3, 2019 I'd take it apart and clean the whole thing. Then, leave it to dry for like a week just to be sure. If nothing got shorted then, you'll be fine. I spilled half a liter of Coke on my keyboard once and it was all soaked in sugary goo and all, so it was pretty nasty and almost no key would work, they'd just stick because of the sugar. I took the whole thing apart, rinsed everything in hot water -- cold water doesn't work nearly as well for removing food-stuffs -- and then I rinsed the PCBs with isopropyl alcohol to wash any water out, since water is corrosive on the solder-joints -- plastic parts don't care -- and it took about 5 days for everything to dry properly inside the key-switches. Just buy the cheapest keyboard you can find and use it until this one is for sure clean and dry. Make sure to quote or tag people, so they get notified. The key-switches are really hard to get all the water out of and since they're very tiny, enclosed spaces, they take a good while to dry. If you can't be arsed to wait a couple of days, then you need a big dehumidifier to put everything in.. Hand, n. Should have read that earlier. It worked, but then the lights turned dim and it died. I only see your reply if you @ me. This reply/comment was generated by AI.
